For the past 5 years they have looked after my car for routine maintenance, Recently I had a very expensive repair . Matthew explained to my son exactly what was involved and why I needed it. I am an old woman. My son who knows a lot about cars assured me I needed the repair and price was right. These are people you can trust to do what your car needs.”

“I had a flat tire on Friday may 29 and I called the ambassador Caffery location and EVERYONE was wonderful. They were all so helpful and I will definitely be back to Dave's for any of my car care. The guys outside that do the actual labor and the gentleman at the desk were all wonderful. Great service from the phone call all the way through. Thank you guys for your help and service.”

“Just WOW and GREAT! These folks are honest and super flexible and NON pushy! Our older mechanic retired and we have been hunting for the right place to go. We have ancient cars (1991, 1990 and 1997). Over the years we have had to deal with many mechanics to keep them all road worthy. These folks gave us a plan for our 1991 Toyota. The mechanic diagnosed various glaring issues that were cropping up. Could just feel that the energy about this place was spot on. Happy with the explanations of all fees and more than happy with the result. They don't give you any BS, all straight shooters and level headed. They understand the customer and the customer's point of view.”

“I come from a family of mechanics and worked at a dealership for years myself and Dave’s is definitely the best service shop I’ve ever been to. They’re so genuine and honest and it makes for loyal customers. I’ve had nothing but an amazing experience every time. The staff is so friendly, they know me and my mother whenever we bring the car over. They’re efficient, careful, and always keep you in the loop. They’re also great to chat with. It is easy and fast to make an appointment and the cost is very affordable especially when you consider how excellent they are. Owner is always there working alongside his employees which is awesome for everyone. I’ve worked at/been to shops where the owner is never present yet the owner rules the place with an iron fist so the owner never really knows his/her employees and what their concerns and goals are. This does not appear to be the case at Dave’s. Highly recommend.”

“So, my daughter is 150 miles away in Lafayette with car trouble. I was hesitant but told her to find a mechanic to diagnose the problem. Charlie (owner) explained to her the problem then took the time to speak with me on the phone about the issues. He explained what was urgent vs what could wait to get repaired. He itemized the cost and went well beyond what I expected. Most importantly, I trusted that he would take care of my daughters car. I can’t tell you how thankful I am she picked this shop. Charlie and Dave’s Car Care Center have my business as long as I have family in Lafayette.”

“I came here for about 2 years until I bought a new car. Every time that I went here for service, my repairs were done in a timely fashion & appreciate the occasional rides to and from my dormitory at UL. However, the final time that I bought my car in 2016 for a battery light issue---I ended up spending almost $1000 in repairs---for a battery issue and the problem still was not fixed. Mr. Charlie was always nice and the customer service is great.”

“Twice I've been there, and repairs were expertly affected.
They even give you a ride home if you can't wait all day for your repair.
Prices are no more expensive that other repair shops. I trust them to be honest, and will refer them to anyone.”

“I had an issue with the pricing and diagnosis of fixing my nisssan 350z but when talked to the owner he was professional and solved it with the upmost respect! I recommend this place to anyone that has issues!! Very hard to find a place you can trust and not have to worry about them giving you a hard time!!! Glad to keep using them!!!

Okay so after having issues with vehicle I went in to pick up my car where I thought they weren’t going to do a job that was going to cost me around 1000 dollars, due to them not letting me know that it could cost this much!! The owner Charlie took it into his own hands ordered the part and replaced it by driving to Baton Rouge honestly yo pick it up! They didn’t even charge me for parts or labor just because they never let me know how much it was going to cost! If this isn’t the most honest place of business in Lafayette!!! Wow!!! God will bless people like the owners of this place!!!”

“We had a very positive experience at Dave's Car Care Center in Lafayette. We were driving from Florida to Texas when our car's brakes started making a loud grinding noise. We managed to make it to Dave's repair shop the next morning. They quickly identified and fixed the problem -- the driver's side brake liner was gone and the caliper was stuck and grinding against the rotor. Their work was highly professional and thorough and the charge reasonable. Thanks guys!”

“I have nothing but praise for Charlie, Johnny and mechanic Dominic on the service provided for my Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland. I normally use a factory dealer for repairs but they could not take my car for two weeks. Charlie took it that day. There were a variety of codes showing up and they felt it was a wiring issue. Dominic bird-dogged the problem to a group of wires melted within its conduit. Johnny communicated with me the whole time and provided me with confidence they could fix the problem. I actually feel they undercharged me for the time it took them to correct the problem. My car runs great now. I highly recommend Dave's Car Care.”

“I came here while on a trip out of town because I was told by a Take 5 Oil change that I had a major oil leak. I simply wanted to know if my car would make it back to Baton Rouge without breaking down and the friendly mechanic checked out my car, spotted the oil leak and also spotted a leak in my power steering. The mechanic told me my car would survive driving back to Baton Rouge. The mechanic then topped me off on oil. This was all done under 10 minutes free of charge. Very friendly and helpful people and I made it back fine.”

They usually fix the car in the same day. Also, after dropping my car, a mechanic took me back to my place which was much appreciated.”

“Friendly, quick service with much experience”

“While traveling from Va to Houston we had a water pump failure and broke down on the Atchafalaya causeway. Had to get towed for repair and chose Dave's based on reviews here. Charlie, Matthew and mechanic Jake couldn't have been nicer. We arrived after closing and dropped our truck off. Found a hotel quite close by for the night. Jake started repairing the truck at 0630, 30 min before normal opening. They diagnosed the problem, completed the repair and had us on the road by 1030. The cost was extremely reasonable, the service outstanding. A less reputable shop could have taken great advantage of us in these circumstances and these guys were fantastic. Thanks Charlie!”
